Nothing Beats a White Sweater (5 of 6)

Welcome to She’s Glitter and Gold! I am Alexa, a 22 year old Animal Science major at the University of Connecticut. Halfway through college I felt as though I needed a creative outlet in my science-laden world, and She’s Glitter and Gold was born! Below are some questions that we are commonly asked, but feel free to shoot me an email at shesglitterandgoldblog@gmail.com if you have any additional questions, I’d love to answer them! You can also read 20 facts about me here!

What made you decide to start a blog?

Again, as a science major, I felt as though I desperately needed something creative in my life. While I love my Animal Science classes, I was drowning in organic chemistry my sophomore year, and turned to this blog as an outlet! My friend, Jenn, and I originally decided to start She’s Glitter and Gold together, but between her full time job and part time design jobs (she is the hardest working person I know, seriously!), it’s hard to find the time to blog! Don’t worry, you will still see her posts from time to time though! 🙂

How would you describe your personal style?

My style is best described as comfy chic. I love being put together, but there is NOTHING in this world like a cozy white sweater paired with my favorite gold watch and gold family heirloom necklace. I am also very into doing my makeup, and experimenting with various lip shades.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Newington, Connecticut, which is a mid sized suburban town located in central Connecticut.

How are you able to shop so much?

A lot of people I know personally ask this! Like everyone else my age, I too am a broke college student. However, I work between classes and studying – I waitress two nights a week, work on campus between my classes, and have a job at my local Convention Center on the weekends. On top of that, I really only shop clearance and am a coupon/price matching pro, so I NEVER pay full price for anything! 😉

Who takes your pictures?

Uh, everyone! Haha. My dad takes my pictures most frequently, but I really recruit anyone between my friends and family! They all know the drill, and have gotten pretty good with my camera as well! Thanks loves!
